MERMAID BIRTHDAY PARTY DECORATIONS DIY
Table Cloth
Choose a blue table cloth or your favorite mermaid color & fasten it to your wall, with clear wall push tacks. Be sure to pull the mermaid table cloth tight enough so that there aren't any wrinkles. This is the 1st layer of your mermaid decorations backdrop for the pretty photos that everyone will be happy to take at your party. You can find the table cloth & tacks at your local $1 store.
A long rectangle table cloth, you may need 2, it depends on how much backdrop you want.
Clear tack to hang the tablecloth on the wall.
2. Fishing Net
The fishing net is key to adding that pretty pop of mermaid style to your mermaid party decorations DIY. You will fasten the fishing net with the clear tacks on each end, the sides & bottom. Keep the top open, for the 4th step. You can buy the fishing net at any sports store or the sporting section of general goods stores.

3. Balloons
Let's blow up all of the balloons with an air pump or the old fashioned way, by mouth. Make sure to buy your favorite mermaid color balloon combinations. I like yellow, pink & orange because they are the colors of my mermaid tail. Hooray!!! But you can choose whatever color combinations of your choosing. Some like the traditional Aerial from the Little Mermaid "under the sea" colors, which are purple & turquoise. All balloon colors are beautiful & this in your party , so be sure to choose colors that you like. But I would recommend clear, see-through balloons to add the extra mermaid style. You can also find balloons at your local $1 store.
4. How to put the balloons on the backdrop?
Now that you have the table cloth on your wall, the fishing net over it & all of your balloons blown up, it's time for the final step. Take each balloon, one at a time, & add wide double sided tape to the back of it & drop it into the fishing net pocket that you created. Basically, the balloons are going in between the table cloth & fishing net. Repeat with all of your balloons. You can put as many or as little balloons that you'd like. This means that the backdrop will look very full or not as full. Both looks are wonderful! You can find the wide double sided tape at your local $1 store or general goods store.
5. Get ready to take photos in front of your beautiful mermaid birthday party decorations DIY
YAY! I knew you could do it, you've created your backdrop for the party & you didn't have to order a kit online & wait for it to get shipped to you. You did it yourself with 4 easy steps. I recommend taking a few photos in front of the backdrop before guest arrive to test the lighting. You may need to add more light to the space so that you can see your party guest in the photos. Ask one of your family members to be your stand in (person to practice taking pictures on) so that you can see how the pictures turn out. Have fun!
